The reason for the text below is an attempt to put three huge novels into a few paragraphs, and people will get an overall understanding. So, as from Xmas Day 2020 here is a brief summary of my project:

OBF is a top-secret project born from one man’s fateful encounter in Australia 1958, and another man’s discovery in Ancient Egypt. A team of explorers are thrust into a reality where no human could imagine. Book one begins an epic story concerning the history, and possible future of humanity —that has not yet been revealed.

A compelling, atmospherically detailed adventure crammed with techno-sorcery and strong, believable characters, including an innocent, yet powerful woman who could be mankind’s savior or our worst nightmare. OBF will lead the reader into multi-dimensional worlds discovering true camaraderie and the challenges they face when blurred lines between friend and foe a set to destroy them.

We join with them in their plight, their humor, their horror.

Just when you think all is lost, along comes the sequel; ‘The Sword of Sorrows’ to delve into more twisting secrets and cold betrayals.

To bring you full circle, and beyond is the third instalment; ‘The Katophia Mission’

The overall collective story is designed to not just entertain but open your mind to the wonderous but ultimately fearful possibilities of a future we could be forced to embrace.

Should people be warned? Or is it kinder to play ignorant? No matter what — it could all be happening right now.

OBF mission completed

It came to an end (?) just after my dad died, later 2018. Shame he could not read it. RIP dad. ATM Smashwords are giving away the first two books for free and the new one heavily discounted. I can't understand why people demand my books be 100% free after 13 years of blood sweat and tears have gone into them. Guess I am a poor artist. LOL

Done

All three episodes are complete. So, after 13 years, from a 3 page scribbled premise, to three solid books, my quest has finished. Check them all out at Smashwords.com.

Death brings life

Yesterday, 28 August 2018 I received news my dad's life was robbed by stomach cancer. Without going into details I was incredibly lucky not to physically witness his wasting. My brother, whom I have not seen for decades gave me just enough communication to know the story and not have to go through what he went through. Nevertheless, it hurts. My dad was always a fighter, and knowing him would want to go on his terms. RIP dad, love you forever.
With his death, I just may, just may think about a sequel, dedicated, of course to his memory. If it was not for him, I would not have the passion for all the sci fi stuff that my, our imagination can carry.

Almost there...

I have been busy working and have only managed to start formatting Katophia for e-book recently, and it will be done piecemeal style.
Nevermind, it is (almost) done and dusted.
Endings eh? Things that make you go hmmmm.

My three covers of my OBF project

Third book in series completed, however...

Third book in series completed, however...It is now down to the nuts and bolts of editing, polishing, riverting & flowing the magic of prose. Yes, OBF series is now completed. It has been a long and eventful journey since November 2005 when I spent the initial 3 months speed writing a rough outline.
Now after over three quarters of a million words, it is complete. I now have one or two people I need to read the third book for their input. All three do need to be read in sequence and if anyone has read the first two, you are welcome to take on number three. I look forward to your feedback. Trivia: the word count for all three books is just under three quarters of a million words.

website death

I have decided to quit the www.debbierenner.com site. Mainly economic reasons and the fact I use Facebook, Twitter, Smashwords & blogs. That is more than enough to get the word out. Sorry I have not posted for centuries. Technically I have ALMOST finished book 3 but it needs fattening and details and a god-damn polishing. LOL If you want to email me, please do, I answer all.

Tardy

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I have had a car accident, inflamed tendon in my ankle (separate event), a family scare, and just general life getting in the way. Excuses, I know. Anyhow, I will be getting back into my writing and finishing re-editing the first OBF book for Smashwords and uploading soon. Anyone who has previously bought it can upload the newer version for free. The same goes for SOS book two. Story has not changed—just a cleaner read.
My third instalment is my plan after that. So watch this space, and hopefully you won't drift on into space, yet.

Question time??

A question to anyone who enjoys reading. Do you find you tend to read more when a physical book is present instead of an e-book?

Out of Body Experience.

Ha! Did that catch your eye. Sorry, more like an out of mind time for me. Slept 2 hours last night as working 11 (10) hours physical job non stop. You think I'd be exhausted. Well, I'm weird and will catch up zzz later. ATM walking round like a zombie and it is back to work today, but only for 4 hours. Phew! Physical nonetheless. When my brain comes down from up yonder, I may have a more meatier blog to write about. Keep giving me feed back either here or my FB. Love to all.

2016 What's Ahead For You?

I gave up on NY resolutions years ago simply because they don't work, at least for me. So I have decided a compromise is in order. One word: Procrastination. Argh. We all do it, procrastinate I mean. So, whether it is gardening, mending the house, or writing, as soon as I think of it (and boy I do) it will be done—soon. LOL

The Maze Runner.

I enjoyed watching YA "The Maze Runner" on Foxtel today. Premise is good but has been done before (a better version of Hunger Games, with more mystery). I see there are two sequel and possible prequels to be made. If you have the time, view it. If this had come before HG, it would have been HUGE. But that is only my opinion. See it for yourself, and if you have, let me know your thoughts.

Behind and beyond the story

We all love an epic story of love, betrayal, deceit and heroism. This story does have these traits, but there is so much more. I contribute the background, the characters and the motives. But not all the motives. Be aware as you read along the subtle clues that twist and turn the path you will take. I will not detail this because the intelligent reader; you, can be part of this story and you have the best ingredient to make the story complete. In the words of Einstein: The gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent or absorbing positive knowledge.

Things that make you go....Hmmmm (dreamer)

Here I am trying to physically bind my HUGE novel Sword of Sorrows into 7-8 binders so I can re-edit without having to use my computer and get sore eyes.
The bloody thing takes up almost a whole draw in my filing cabinet and then it dawned on me. Hello...
OBF can be the movie (like Stargate). SOS and the Katophia Mission would make an excellent television series as they are so long. One chapter would equal roughly an hour (allowing for ads etc). I am a strong believer in cliffhangers and I have enough to cover every hour.
Things that make you dream on....

Favourite Action/SciFi movies.

I'd love to hear what your favourite movies are. I am still working on my list but I have noticed since technology has increased, so has excellent movies. Interstellar is my latest, 1996's Independence Day has some of the best humour, MIB I saw 7 times in 1997 and still love it. Anything Stargatty is up there too. So let me know what YOU enjoy. Hey, I may not have seen it and hearing a review will make me want to. Woo Hoo.

The End or is it?

Feeling a tad sad as a main character will be getting removed in third book, but if you have read the stories...endings are simply new beginnings. Heh heh. I have been struggling and talking to myself over the last few months (telepathically that is) over how to satisfy the 'end.' I really hate endings, so I will have to surprise you all. Can't tell you anymore than that, as I don't know myself...completely...yet.
